Post 16 Evening & Change to a Virtual Event

Given the current context, we have taken the unfortunate decision to move to a virtual event which will take place on Microsoft Teams remotely.

We have made every effort to ensure that parents and students will still get an opportunity to talk to each subject, and to gain an understanding of the various course options and what is right for your son/daughter. I and my team will also be available on the evening if you have general queries about Post 16 and how Sixth form works/is different to Key stage 3 and 4.

The evening will run from 17:00 – 19:00 on Thursday 18th November via Microsoft Teams. Each subject will run its own Teams meeting and we will provide the various links to you and your son/daughter via email and our website at the beginning of next week. This will enable you to dial in to speak to any of our subjects that are of interest. We will also place video overviews of each subject onto our website should you later want to explore further options or remind yourself of specific course details. Of course I and members of the Sixth Form team are also available through the term to meet and discuss any concerns or questions you might have about option choices and pathways post 16.

I’m incredibly sorry that we cannot invite you into school next Thursday to see our amazing teachers and sixth form centre, but I hope you can understand the reason behind this decision, and please do rest assured we aim to deliver an event which will give you and your son/daughter a sense of what life and studying in Sixth form is really like.

The Post 16 Options page is now available for you to access on our website here.

A full list of subject meetings, with the relevant Teams links included, is now available here.

I look forward to seeing you on Teams, and hope you find the evening useful and informative. If you do have any questions in the meantime please do not hesitate to get in touch,

Many thanks and Best wishes,

Mr Humphrey
