Kingdown School students have again achieved fantastic GCSE and vocational results this year despite the disruption caused by the pandemic. Students took qualifications in a wide range of subjects and overcame national adversity, after sitting assessments in school, as well as completing coursework modules for some subjects.

GCSE outcomes at Kingdown School have remained consistently high for a number of years and this challenging year has been no exception.

Mrs Carpenter and Mr Holman, Heads of School said: ‘We could not be prouder of our students for coming through the pandemic so well prepared for their next steps. While dealing with all the restrictions of Covid-19, they showed resilience by continuing to work at their studies to gain the best possible grades they could.

The majority are heading to our 6th Form and have already completed a fortnight of induction lessons;  others have the grades they need for college and apprenticeships. We know their time at Kingdown has ensured they have been developed academically and socially and it has been very rewarding to see how they have grown and remained strong through the past two years in particular. We would like to congratulate them all.’

‘All the teachers at Kingdown School have done their utmost to support students through these times and help them reach their potential and we would like to thank them for their hard work. We would also like to thank our parents for their support and care as we navigated such unprecedented years in education.’

‘Our popular 6th form is oversubscribed with over 300 students in total but we do have some spaces available in some subjects. Please contact Mr Humphrey if interested in enquiring: hu@kingdown.wilts.sch.uk’.
