Kingdown School GCSE Results, 2023

Kingdown School Students Achieve Great GCSE Results Again 

Kingdown School students were celebrating today after achieving a strong set of GCSE results across their subjects, despite a return to pre-covid grade boundaries and the turbulence of recent years nationally.  

Headteacher Helen Carpenter said: ‘We would like to congratulate our fantastic Year 11s on achieving a great set of results that reflects their hard work and dedication through their studies in Kingdown School. They have been a mature, resilient and generally all-round lovely year group and we are delighted so many are staying on to our 6^th form.’ 

‘Our student Oryna, joined us in Year 10 from Ukraine and did particularly well, including in English, her second language – she has been such an asset to our school and is such a star to overcome such hardship to succeed. She's an inspiration!’ 

‘We’d like to thank our families too for their support and encouragement over the past five years and during the pandemic as well as the staff at school for their excellent teaching and guidance.’ 

A few results of note amongst many:  

·         Reuben Kjaer achieved nine grade 9s and 1 grade 8 

·         Oryna Nyzovets achieved four grade 9s, a Distinction, one grade 8  

·         Katie Chudleigh achieved six grade 9s, 2 grade 8s and 3 grade 7s 

·         James Cooper achieved three grade 9s, two grades 8 and five grade 7s 

·         Meredith Hermon achieved four grade 9s, three grade 8s, three grade 7s 

·         Sam Church achieved three grade 9s, two grade 8s, four grade 7s 

·         Molly Stockting achieved four grade 9s, one grade 8, three grade 7s  

·         Chloe Hudd achieved three grade 9s, two grade 8s and three grade 7s 

·         Rebecca Barnes achieved five grade 8s 

·         Kate Howard achieved one grade 9 and three grade 8s 

·         Harvey Payne achieved three grade 9s 

·         Archie Stone achieved two grade 9s and three grade 8s 

·         Greg Thomas achieved three grade 9s and a grade 8 

·         Rebecca Barnes achieved five grade 8s
