Year 7 students have recently been raising money for the LEPRA charity – an organisation that supports communities across the world that suffer from leprosy. LEPRA organises vaccination and educational programmes in Asia, Africa and South America.
Kingdown students were asked to raise money by holding their own fundraising activities; some of these included: sponsored runs, bake sales and non-technology days. As a reward for their efforts, LEPRA organised a dance teacher to come in and deliver a street dance style event on March 25th. Year 7 learned a few new moves!
Kingdown raised £3111.10 – a fantastic achievement, although a special mention must go to Violet Clarke (SiDR) who raised an amazing £481! Other top fundraisers were: Sam Church (WiGR), Emily Willis (WeGY), Maddy Miller (MiWN), Noah Holt (TwMW) and Lauren Casson (LoHO).
