As part of their A-Level course Year 12 spent two days in the East End of London looking at the regeneration, that has taken place.
Day one was spent with Miss Keeling giving the students a tour of the Newham area, conducting environmental surveys and batting through torrential rain. The students were shocked by how different life here was compared to Warminster. We then went to Westfield Shopping centre for dinner and a spot of shopping before getting ready for the following day.
On day two the tube in rush hour was an experience; and Mrs Burdett got left behind as she wasn’t quick enough getting on the carriage.
We finally arrived in Hackney Wick an old industrial area and admired the graffiti, before heading across the River Lea to look at the difference the 2012 Olympic site had made to the area.
