Assistant Science Technician

Temporary Maternity Leave Cover

Salary Grade D, Point 4 (£9.55 per hour)

Usual working weeks: 39 weeks

Usual hours of work: 25 hours per week

This is a term time only position

 

A rare chance to join our professional team of Science Technicians at this excellent school has arisen. We are looking for a temporary Assistant Science Technician, for 10 months, who will work within our superb science department to cover maternity leave of a colleague from September 2019. (There is a strong possibility of a part-time contract at the end of the academic year)

 

The role will include:

  • Assisting the Science Technicians with the preparation of practical resources and facilities to provide a high standard technical service for staff and students for science lessons.
  • Maintaining the highest standards of health and safety at all times

 

We will be pleased to hear from you if you can show us that you:

  • Have achieved GCSE grade C, or above, in Science
  • Have experience of working in a laboratory environment, or be very willing to be trained
  • Have good communication skills
  • Have sound ICT skills
  • Have superb attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Be self-motivated, dedicated and consistent
  • Have strong interpersonal skills and be able to work with a variety of staff and students
  • Be a really strong team player
