At the beginning of this year, we launched our new reward system, ‘Learning Behaviours’, in an effort to encourage and recognise the successes of our students.

This term, we have continued to reward students for a wide range of achievements, in and out of the classroom, during tutor time, in extra-curricular clubs, for contributions to the school and wider communities, for excellent attendance, for showing resilience, and for being helpful and kind.

As we approach the end of term 2, we are excited and ready to celebrate the fantastic things our students have been up to. Below is how we’re looking forward to celebrating! (Remember – when parents and carers now log in to www.go4schools.com , they can view their child’s progress and reward points, live, as they are added!) Mr Richardson

Key Stage 3: Lesson 4, 5 Film

We are again celebrating our Key Stage 3 students in the last week of this term. The 150 students from Years 7, 8 and 9 (50 from each year group) with the most reward points so far this term, are being invited to watch a film on the big screen!

We will be showing ‘The Incredibles 2’ (PG) during lessons 4 and 5 in the Large Hall, as a reward for these students who have been up to some fantastic things over the past 7 weeks. Students who are invited have been notified through emails home, and messages in tutor time.

Key Stage 4: Sweetshop

We are also celebrating our Key Stage 4 students in the last week of this term.

100 students from Years 10 and 11 (50 from each year group) with the most reward points during term 2, are being invited to grab a sweet treat during break time, by helping themselves to something from a ‘chocolatey’ selection!

This will take place during break 1 on Monday 17th December, as a reward for these students who have worked hard and shown themselves to be excellent Kingdown citizens over the past term. Students who are invited will be notified through emails home, and messages in tutor time.

House Prize: Cookie Day

Every reward point a student earns, also contributes to their house, by way of house points. Each week over the past term, house points have been growing, and the winning house for Term 2 is… Wimbledon!

Wednesday 19th December is therefore Cookie Day for Wimbledon House! Every student in Wimbledon House will receive a token in tutor time, which can be redeemed for a cookie from the PE Snack Shack, at break one. Well done to all students in Wimbledon House; your individual successes have contributed to a collective treat! Opposite are the final figures for house points at the end of term 2.

House points will be reset to zero next term, so the top spot will once again, be up for grabs!
