Kingdown School is extremely proud of the GCSE results that have been achieved in 2018.

Thanks to the hard work of the students and staff and the support of parents, students at Kingdown have achieved another excellent set of results at GCSE level. The majority of subjects have now moved across to the new, harder GCSEs awarded at grade 9 to 1; our students have performed incredibly well.

Our headline figures include:

  • 75% gaining a grade 4 or higher in English
  • 70% gaining a grade 4 or higher in maths
  • 36 students (15%) gaining 5 or more grade 7s / As
  • 172 students (72%) gaining 5 or more grade 4s / Cs
  • An attainment 8 score of 47.0pts – equivalent to an average grade of 4.7 in each subject

As a school, we are very proud of each and every one of our students and wish them all well as they embark on their next stage of education or training.

Congratulations to James McRoberts who achieved a fantastic set of results by gaining 8 grade 9s and 1 grade 8. James is staying at Kingdown to study French, History, Politics and Maths.

Well done to Caroline Longley on achieving 7 grade 9s, 1 grade 8, 1 grade A and 1 grade B. Caroline is staying at Kingdown to study maths, Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Design.

Congratulations to Corey Gair who achieved a superb set of results by gaining 6 grade 9s, 2 grade 8s, 1 A*, 1 grade 7 and 1 grade A. Corey is going to stay at Kingdown to study maths, Further maths, Physics and Business Studies. Well done.

Well done to Rebecca Blakeley who gained 3 grade 9s, 4 grade 8s, 2 grade 8s and 1 grade 7. Rebecca is studying at Kingdown and taking Biology, Chemistry, maths and Design.
