Another year comes to an end, and looking back I really do wonder how we squeezed in all we did! There have been such a range of memorable trips, visits, work experiences, art and design exhibitions, field work, mock job interviews, sports tournaments… to mention just a few. The list is quite extensive and exhaustive in equal measure. School is about so much more than lessons, and I really do believe that the experiences on offer to our students are second to none.
If you have been into school recently you will have seen our building works rapidly moving forward; we will have four new maths classrooms ready for occupation early in the new term, which will make a huge difference to the look and feel of the centre of the school site. Across the summer break we also have a range of other works progressing, including re-roofing much of the main teaching block and upgrades to our IT systems.
Looking forward to next year, we are launching a revised approach to behaviour and rewards which has been designed to support the positive learning ethos within the school, and also to improve the flow of information between school and home; more details will follow in the new year. We will also be building on the work started this year on student (and staff) wellbeing.
Until then, may I wish you a peaceful, enjoyable and relaxing summer holiday. We hope all of our students get the chance to fully recharge their batteries over this time, ready to face the challenges of their new academic year with energy and enthusiasm.
